Thursday, June 25, 2015. When I was a kid, the dentist would let us dive through a cardboard treasure chest to pick out a prize after a successful appointment. My mom would take us to get ice cream after our yearly physicals, or donuts after a trip to the orthodontist. The only prize I could hope for was leaving with whatever scrap of dignity I had left.
